June 1–7 marks National Gun Storage Check Week, the official start of National Safety Month. It’s a time for responsible gun owners like us to pause, reflect, and make sure our firearms are stored safely and securely — especially if there are kids, guests, or vulnerable individuals in the home.
Later this year, the same campaign will run again from September 1–7, leading into Suicide Prevention Month, a critical reminder that how we store our firearms can save lives.
Whether you're a hunter, range shooter, or carry daily, the goal is the same: protect what matters most. This week is a great opportunity to check your setup and consider if it still fits your current lifestyle and household.

Over half of all gun deaths in the U.S. are suicides.
-
Safe storage reduces the risk of both accidents and misuse.
You already take pride in being a responsible gun owner. This week is just one more chance to lead by example.
