1. What is your favorite animal to hunt and why?

This is a really hard question to answer because I love hunting both big game and small game for different reasons. If I had to choose my absolute favorite animal to hunt it’d definitely be mountain lion! I love any time spent with the hounds whether it’s training or hunting, and having the opportunity to hunt year round off of horseback, ATV, pickup trucks, snowmobiles, or just on foot is awesome! Nothing compares to the rewarding feeling that comes when I’m walking up to a lion tree knowing a hound that we’ve raised and trained was able to start and finish the race perfectly! And the meat, let’s not forget the meat!

2. What are 3 words that describe you?

Three words that describe me are horses, hounds, and high country!

3. What is your favorite piece of GWG clothing?

My favorite piece of gear in my GWG collection would definitely be the Lassen pants! They are so comfortable to hike, hunt, fish, and just hang out in. I love the solid color because I don’t always want to be in full camouflage but I also don’t want to sacrifice my comfort! The fit and flexibility is amazing, not to mention how insanely durable they are against the thick scrub oak that covers most of northern NM!

4. What do you do for fun when you aren’t hunting or enjoying the outdoors?

If I’m not hunting or enjoying the outdoors you can probably find me in the kitchen. I love to cook and bake, and I’m always looking for new recipes to try out, especially with wild game! Plus I love hanging out with family and friends, so having people over for dinner is always fun!

5. What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I haven’t hunted my whole life. I didn’t start hunting until I was 17 but I don’t plan on stopping any time soon – or ever actually!

6. How did you get into hunting?

I grew up around hunting and have been eating wild game for as long as I can remember. I was never interested in hunting for myself until I got together with my boyfriend who has always been an avid hunter. He encouraged me to get a deer license while I was still eligible for youth hunts and I was lucky enough to tag out on a nice buck on the first day of my first hunt! I’ve been hooked ever since and now I take successfully filling tags and putting meat in the freezer very seriously – because nothing is worse than tag soup! Thankfully I have the best hunting mentor and partner that I could ask for!
